It was c.1900 when William Laws decided to go into business in Castle Street, selling bikes and motorbike as well as supplying petrol.
With the start of the war locals used Laws as a place to store their motorcycles whilst overseas.
Some time after this Laws started selling records too and If you visit the shop you can see this old vinyl record fixed to the wall.
The shop has developed over time to what it is to day. An outdoor clothes store, also providing bike hire and repairs and even selling electrical goods.
Over a 100 years old now Williams Laws is possibly one of the oldest businesses in Kirkcudbright.
